洪 民憙 (Hong Minhee)

Hello! I'm Hong Minhee (洪 民憙), an open source software engineer in my late 30s, living in Seoul, Korea. I'm bisexual and non-binary (they/them), and an enthusiastic advocate of free/open source software and the fediverse.

I work full-time on @fedify, an ActivityPub server framework in TypeScript, funded by @sovtechfund. I'm also the creator of @hollo, a single-user ActivityPub microblog; @botkit, an ActivityPub bot framework; Hackers' Pub, a fediverse platform for software developers; and LogTape, a logging library for JavaScript and TypeScript.

I have a long interest in East Asian languages (CJK) and Unicode. I post mostly in English here, though occasionally in Japanese or in mixed-script Korean (國漢文混用體), a traditional writing style that interleaves Chinese characters with the native Korean alphabet. Wanting to write in that style was actually one of the reasons I joined the fediverse. Feel free to talk to me in English, Korean, Japanese, or even Literary Chinese!

STF（@sovtechfund）の支援を受け、TypeScript用ActivityPubサーバーフレームワーク「@fedify」の開発に専念しています。他にも、おひとり様向けのActivityPubマイクロブログ「@hollo」、ActivityPubボットフレームワーク「@botkit」、ソフトウェア開発者向けフェディバースプラットフォームHackers' Pub、JavaScript・TypeScript用ロギングライブラリLogTapeなどの制作者でもあります。

東アジア言語（いわゆるCJK）とUnicodeにも興味があります。このアカウントでは主に英語で投稿していますが、時々日本語や国漢文混用体（漢字ハングル混じり文）の韓国語でも書いています。実はこの文体で書きたくてフェディバースを始めた、という経緯もあります。日本語、英語、韓国語、漢文でも気軽に話しかけてください！

Being a polyglot may mean that you are not fluent in any language.

@cheeaun Yeah, actually, tagging a whole post content with a language is a part of Activity Streams specification. (Activity Streams allows a single post can contains multiple contents, which allow to consist of multiple languages though.)

日本語版Windowsでバックスラッシュ（\）を円記号（¥）で表示するのと同様に、韓国語版Windowsでもバックスラッシュをウォン記号（₩）で表示します。

參考(참고)로 SEONBI_URL 옵션과 함께 使用(사용)할 境遇(경우), Seonbi는 lang이 ko가 아닌 部分(부분)을 만나면 아무런 後處理(후처리)를 하지 않기 때문에, 日本語(일본어)나 中國語(중국어) 等(등) 漢字(한자)를 쓰는 言語(언어)를 韓國語(한국어) 사이에 섞을 때 <ruby> 태그로 願(원)치 않는 韓國(한국) 漢字音(한자음) 읽기가 한글로 붙는 걸 막는 用途(용도)로 쓸 수 있습니다. (事實(사실) 제가 딱 그런 用途(용도)로 쓰려고 만듦…)

Hollo에 ALLOW_HTML이라는 옵션을 追加(추가)했습니다. Markdown 中間(중간)에 生(생) HTML을 揷入(삽입)할 수 있게 해주는 옵션입니다. 基本(기본)값은 false입니다만, 저는 켜고 쓸 것 같네요. 主(주)로 한 揭示物(게시물) 안에 여러 言語(언어)를 섞을 때, <span lang="…"> 태그로 감싸기 爲(위)해서 쓸 것 같습니다.

Hollo에 벡터 임베딩으로 意味論的(의미론적) 檢索(검색)(semantic search)을 具顯(구현)해보고 싶긴 한데, pgvector가 PostgreSQL 內藏(내장) 技能(기능)이 아니라서 苦悶(고민)이다. 이미 PostgreSQL 最新(최신) 버전에 依存(의존)하는데 pgvector까지 設置(설치)하라고 하면 좀 힘들 것 같아서…

Just released Hollo 0.4.5, which fixes several bugs and gets Fedify updated!

Yesterday, I was struggling to build a Haskell project, and today I'm working on Fedify, a Deno project, so I can feel the difference in build time between the two. I used to think that the test suite of Fedify took a long time, but now I see that it is relatively fast!
