Hello, Tradeless Earth is a project promoting moneyless society.

We don't accept funds, because it's anti-trade of course.

But we need help:

• First is finding people interested in more just, equal and sustainable world to join the conversation.

• Helping us migrate our website to their own server.
If someone has to spare.

• Helping in research about the content we add on website.

*Doesn't matter if you can spare only half hour per week. Everything counts!

Today in Labor History April 26, 1937: The Nazis and Italian fascists bombed Guernica, a town in the Basque region of Spain, at the request of Spanish fascist leader, Francisco Franco. Later that year, Picasso painted his famous painting, Guernica, in protest of the atrocity. This was during the Spanish Civil War. The Republicans, a coalition of anarchist, socialist and communist partisans, were fighting the Nationalists, led by Franco. They bombed Guernica for two hours, killing between 1,000 and 3,000 civilians, or 20-60% of the population.

The grey, black, and white painting, on a canvas 3.49 meters (11 ft 5 in) tall and 7.76 meters (25 ft 6 in) across, portrays the suffering wrought by violence and chaos. Prominent in the composition are a gored horse, a bull, screaming women, a dead baby, a dismembered soldier, and flames. By Pablo Picasso - PICASSO, la exposición del Reina-Prado. All visions, dreams, and healthy utopias conjured up by humans are centered around ending all kinds of exploitation while satisfying human curiosity and comfort.

Hence capitalism is directly opposed to any tangible progress of our species, our habitats, and the planet we live on.

It's not "wage theft" that is the problem. Wages by themselves ARE theft, wages presuppose that a part of the population is deprived from the means to reproduce their own life, and therefore are forced to comodify themselves and sell their labor as a merchandise: labor power.

We need to abolish the wage system, not only the theft that some employers do on wages.

Today in Labor History February 21, 1937: The League of Nations banned foreign nationals from volunteering in the Spanish Civil War. Nevertheless, thousands from Britain, the U.S. and other countries came to Spain and joined the Republicans in the fight against Franco and fascism. Altogether, over 59,000 international volunteers supported the anti-fascist cause, along with over 3,000 soviet “technicians.” Roughly 500,000 soldiers and civilians died in the war. The antifascist republican forces lost, leading to a 40-year fascist dictatorship.

One of the battalions of American volunteers was named the Tom Mooney Machine-Gun Company, after the anarchist IWW member Tom Mooney, who was framed for the 1916 Preparedness Day bombing in San Francisco. It was led by Oliver Law, a communist, and the first black man known to have commanded white U.S. troops. Law was from West Texas and had worked as a stevedore. Due to his skill, Law quickly rose in the ranks of the Republican army. However, he died on July 9, 1937, as he led an attack on Mosquito Crest.

Today in Labor History December 12, 1945: The U.S. Army Military Government (USAMG), which occupied and controlled the southern half of the Korean peninsula from 9/8/45-8/15/48, outlawed the People’s Republic of Korea, which was occupied by the USSR. The USAMG banned strikes and opposition movements and starved civilians, leading to a deadly cholera outbreak and exacerbating popular discontent. Less than a year later, the Communist Party organized a General Strike. Deadly repression against the strikers further worsened discontent, leading to the Daegu and Jeju uprisings, in which thousands of workers were slaughtered by Korean forces, directed by U.S. advisors. In Jeju, up to 30,000 people, 10% of the entire population, were executed.

“The Millionaire,” an animated anti-capitalist film produced by the Soviet Union in 1963, is about a bulldog in the United States who inherits millions of dollars from his rich owner when she dies, lives a life of luxury with the money he didn't earn, and eventually uses his wealth to “win” himself a seat in the U.S. Senate.

Truly, nothing has changed since 1963.
(Someone should seriously make a modern version of this.)

“The Millionaire” is an animated anti-capitalist film produced by the Soviet Union in 1963. Set in the United States, the cartoon tells the story of a bulldog who inherits millions of dollars from his rich owner when she dies. The narrator asks, "What can a dog possibly do with all that money?" The answer: in America, pretty much anything. The bulldog lives a life of obscene luxury, partying all night, smoking cigars, and eventually using his wealth to “win” himself a seat in the U.S. Senate.

@TheDialecticalCommunist @joaopinheiro so the game might be more about people resisting and (partially) deserting capitalism, and building concrete alternatives, like Longo Mai

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longo_Ma

And this until capitalism runs out of fossil fuels to empower their cops and military.

So maybe abolition of the state is the endgame, after the playing field is leveled, rather than a short-term violent revolution.

Just throwing ideas and looking to learn!

What. Did. I. Tell. You.

A left-wing coalition won the elections in France, and the moderates and liberals refused to acknowledge the results of the election, immediately flocking to the fascists to keep the left out of power. It's like I've said. Capitalist democracy, and our rights and freedoms under it, are an illusion that only exists to the degree they benefit the ruling class.

Fred from "Scooby-Doo" says, "Let's see who you really are!" He says this while standing in front of a tied up person wearing a ghost costume with the words "record profits" while about to take off the person's ghost mask.

In the second panel, Fred takes off the mask, and what is under it are the words "stolen wages," suggesting that the record profits of capitalist companies are nothing more than the stolen wages of the workers.

I was talking to a relative yesterday, a christian who was telling me how amazingly blessed they were because they had a need of something that was too expensive new and too difficult to find used and in good shape.

But God hooked them up with someone in their church community who had this thing, no longer needed it, was happy to give it to my relative for free.

They cited another example of being blessed like this when a friend noticed a need they had and found someone in the community who was willing to pay for it for them.

They became quite emotional describing how "blessed" they were.

I wanted so much to tell them:

That wasn't "God" at all, that's communism!
Or as anarchists would call it: Mutual Aid.
This is not God, this is something deeply, essentially, and definitively *human*.

"And some of us who come from poor families, who carry around the hidden injuries of class, are very impressed -- are very, very impressed -- by these achievements..."

Damn straight. Don't you fucking tell me that the richest country on the planet can't do what the poorest ones did a fucking CENTURY ago.

Full transcript below.

"Communism, ladies and gentlemen, I say it without flinching: Communism in eastern Europe, Russia, China, Mongolia, North Korea, and Cuba, brought land reform and human services; a dramatic bettering of the living conditions of hundreds of millions of people, on a scale never before, or never since, witnessed in human history. And that's something to appreciate. Communism transformed desperately poor countries into societies in which everyone had adequate food, shelter, medical care, and education. And some of us who come from poor families, who carry around the hidden injuries of class, are very impressed -- are very, very impressed -- by these achievements, and are not willing to dismiss them as 'economistic.' To say that 'socialism doesn't work,' is to overlook the fact that it DID work! And it worked for hundreds of millions of people!"

--Michael Parenti

A video of Marxist historian Michael Parenti -- wearing a tan suit, blue tie, and with glasses, a mustache, and greying hair -- speaking at a lectern, with a mounted microphone visible on the left of the frame. Subtitles in an unknown language (perhaps German?) are visible in the bottom of the frame.

It's another post from .

I got back in November 2020. It nearly killed me. I was in ICU for a week and med-surg for another.

When I presented to the ER, with the worst pain in my life, feeling like I was on death's door (I was), do you know what happened first?

THE EXAMINATION OF MY WALLET!

The memory of writhing in agony, grasping frantically for my wallet, hunched over on a cold plastic chair, desperately awaiting care, is a permanent scar.

@yellowparenti stitching a video of a paramedic, wherein the paramedic's patient is in a gurney in an ambulance, having a mental breakdown. The scene cuts to the paramedic asking them for insurance. Then, we cut to @yellowparenti's clip of Michael Parenti.

I think it's better in Cuba, where I injured my leg. A very serious injury. My achille's tendon. And I went to a hospital. And I got an operation. And nobody gave me that examination you get in the US. The first examination you get. When you go into an emergency clinic and you can be bleeding from three places. The examination of your wallet, to see if you've got medical coverage.

And if you don't, you're sent to another hospital. You're dumped on the public hospital, which may be across town, while you're still bleeding.

It was better in Cuba where I got that operation. And I didn't have to pay a penny. And I came back here with a cast. And I tried to get an orthopedic doctor. And I couldn't. And I could pay. I said "I'll pay. You don't understand. I'll pay!" And they said ";oh we know you'll pay. We don't take any other kind of patient."

But they're all booked. And I finally got some guy who just came out of medical school. And I hobbled into his office. And he looked at the cast, he said "leave it on another week. That's 50 dollars."

I can tell you that 50 dollars --I never resented paying 50 so much. It was better in Cuba. In a poor country I got good medical care. In a rich country I'm treated like a beggar.[cont]

: i promised myself that this year would be the one during which i paid tribute to the revolutionary, frida kahlo (born in 1907), & then i was too busy to do her any sort of justice. not only have i rushed her portrait, but i've also had no time to write up the sort of blurb that she merits. she was a death-defying, genre-spanning communist powerhouse & diego was punching waaaaaaaay up. :)

digital ink illustration i drew to mark the anniversary of frida kahlo's birth.
she looks directly at her audience, in 3/4 profile. her hair is in a chic bob (the image that served as the reference having been taken in 1926) rather than her famous plaits. frida's eyes are steadfast & unflinchingly reading your soul.
colours are deep, vibrant tangerine & indigo blue.

Many historical anarchists were already keenly aware of @abolition @communism

“The police cannot be the builder of new life.” — Peter Kroptkin

“If in order to win it were necessary to erect the gallows in the public square, then I would prefer to lose.” — Errico Malatesta

“”When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called 'the People's Stick.'” — Mikhail Bakunin

is the idea that the abolition of classes takes as a prerequisite the abolition of police and prisons and other carceral institutions because carcerality reinforces class.
