Hello, I'm an open source software engineer in my late 30s living in #Seoul, #Korea, and an avid advocate of #FLOSS and the #fediverse.

I'm the creator of @fedify, an #ActivityPub server framework in #TypeScript, @hollo, an ActivityPub-enabled microblogging software for single users, and @botkit, a simple ActivityPub bot framework.

Do we need a dedicated fedi account for BotKit?

I feel like this is part of what makes @fedify one of the most important fediverse projects at the moment - it aims to keep everyone from having to do the same, overly complicated job of activitypub integration over and over and over again.

It's frustration that nobody wants to dig into old code, but I get frustrated having to re-work my own code from a year ago. So I guess I sympathize.

The English words 'no' and 'no' don't share a common ancestor. 'No', the opposite of 'yes', comes from Proto-West-Germanic *naiw (never), while 'no' as in 'no pain, no gain' comes from *nain (not any): it arose as a variant of 'none'.

'No' as opposed to 'yes' isn't related to German 'nein' and Dutch 'nee' either. Their only common part is 'n-', which comes from the Germanic negation particle *ne, also found in words such as 'not', 'neither' and 'never'.

@dansup Even 512 GB was enough for me five years ago, but I think times have changed, and everything is heavier now. 😂

I'm still perfectly happy with my MacBook Pro M1 Max, and the only thing that makes me think about upgrading is the storage…

I swear my next laptop will have 2 TB of storage. (I'm currently struggling with 512 GB.)

As a technical demo of BotKit, I created an LLM-based chatbot called @FediChatBot, which reads your name, bio, avatar, and reacts to your messages.

#Hollo does not currently cache media attached to remote posts or avatars from remote accounts (except for thumbnails). Do you think we should cache them?

I looked into it and xBrowserSync seems to be close to what I'm looking for, but it doesn't support Safari and has no plans to in the future.

I wish someone would make an extension to synchronize browser history between #Firefox and #Safari.
