甚至讀者想要的話應該要能閱讀HTML(例如Richard Stallman他老人家不用瀏覽器,而是用curl下載網頁閱讀)就能看到本文。
JavaScript的話要符合LibreJS的標準,宣告自身是開源的可信賴的才載入。

Naru (Korean Neocities) gains ActivityPub support thanks to Fedify! Now, you can follow Naru personal homepages on the Fediverse, and receive updates at most once a day per website. For example, if you want to receive updates for https://yang.naru.pub, you can simply folllow @yang@naru.pub. I believe this is a significant improvement over polling websites and an effective way to stay connected with the indie web community.

Aside from the "who are these people", it's an interesting commentary on how search engines (and AI) basically have made a lot of Internet content impossible to find and access, especially with mass blocking. I had a website which was an authoritative one, which frequently was getting copied and where spam copies were showing up higher ranked (where sometimes my site would never show up at all).... it's way, way worse now with AI.

Which feels like something a lot of y'all should know!

blog.neocities.org/blog/2026/0

Update: DuckDuckGo at least has fixed this issue, likely thanks to some folks making a good kind of ruckus! Still, I hope this has informed people how much of a pain Bing can be with this kind of thing in general.

DuckDuckGo account on Bluesky: We just deployed an update for this issue. Neocities results should now be appearing again when searching for "neocities" or for sites with neocities.org in the URL. (Let us know if you see otherwise) Sites hosted on Neocities that don't include neocities.org in the URL shouldn't have been affected.

🤔 This is *not* a good look.

Is Bing actively trying to stifle the & the ? Who knows!

Regardless - what you can do:
- pick a different search engine if you are using Bing. , , come to mind as great first picks.
- start up your own little site! Share what you like. It doesn't have to be complicated. A small blog, a digital garden.
- seek out , share content from small/indie sites that you enjoy!

Just set up an original comic on Neocities. The comic is like an MSPA/MSPFA - you get to tell the characters how to act and develop. The main page should hopefully get UI upgrades as time goes on, but it's serviceable right now.
I'm only on the first page - new panels will be added semi-regularly, you can check it out here!

YouTube is now recommending me a bunch of videos of people making their own cute little HTML websites, usually on Neocities or what they are calling The Indie Web and its giving me hope.

I knew this was a thing, and I knew people are still making websites like this, but it's really fun to see people encouraging people to do the same or making tutorials on YouTube.

Back in March I scanned through a terabyte of old geocities sites with the goal of finding *all* the 88x31 buttons. Recently, I realised that I didn't scan for all the geocities subsites (e.g. de.geocities.com, br.geocities.com, etc). I've fixed that mistake and have added 1.8k new 88x31 buttons from Germany, Brazil, Hong Kong and many more international sites. Feel free to explore the updated site or download the zipped button archive (31k buttons, 156MB)

I’m Leaving the Small Web and Forging a New Path.

I’ve been reflecting on the direction I want to take my work online. While I’ve appreciated aspects of the Small Web and similar movements - especially their love for personal websites - I’ve found that I no longer feel at home within those spaces.

I spent the last couple of days helping someone over e-mail with my "how to use Deploy To Neocities for people like me who don't read good or do tech good" tutorial. Now I have updated my tutorial for the first time in a year with the information I have learned by hleping this person.

The new page uses my exchange letter template LMAO, and it offers VSCodium as an alternative to VSCode AS WELL as having a section for editing your website across different computers AND how to use the command line to connect to github if you didn't already do it like I did in my tutorial (woops).

Oh it also has a comment section now so I could test how to install Virtual Observer's google sheets powered comment box. It's pretty easy, only took like 5 minutes. Hooray!

Time to shill one of my small "for me!" projects: a fansite for one of my fave characters, Hans von Hammer, aka Enemy Ace! 🛩️ :blobcatsnugs: Forever a WIP but please enjoy what I have thus far!

I'll be share some sections and other fun stuff from it in the coming weeks.

Please mind the warning page! You should be about 12-13+ due to the topics discussed.
