They want us to have $35K just sitting there "in case of "?

I stumbled across this arguing that your emergency in 2025 should be at least $35,000. That’s the new “rainy day” number. Not . Not . Just... existing.
It got me thinking — how can we have skyrocketing living , stagnant , and still be told to squirrel away that much cash “just in case”? Who is this even realistic for?
