IceShrimp.NET has a new beta release, and the front end UI is starting to catch up to the back end. Including everyone's favorite, MFM! (Well, maybe not everybody, but between instances with support, it sure is fun in moderation)

A screenshot of the IceShrimp.NET interface featuring two posts from the user "admin464." The first post expresses excitement about the new beta of IceShrimp.NET, highlighting improvements in the UI and backend. The second post features a comment on IceShrimp.NET, emphasizing its quality with the word "niiiiceee." Both use the Misskey Markdown, adding color and animation to the text.

I just love the fediverse. Where else can you find NEW features that include a flash player?! So fun. Plus some serious good stuff like rate limiting and abandoned instance guardrails.

I handwavingly predict that the most stable fork will be whichever one decides to rebuild its foundations atop of , thus freeing up the dev(s) to focus on the client-side innovations that the have always excelled at.

As far as I can tell, I coined the term "Forkey", for better or worse. Adding it to my CV.

IceShrimp.NET is experimenting with backend plugins. There's a working example - an autoresponder. The idea is it could be utilized to assist with administration and moderation tasks.

It's becoming difficult to call IceShrimp.NET a Forkey. Completely new codebase, but it does strive to support a migration path from IceShrimp-JS.

Here's the autoresponder example.

The domain firefish.social was up for auction today and it sold for at least $12, I didn't see the final bid because I got busy at work and forgot about it.

I hope it went to someone with good intentions.
