we don't explicitly require alt-text ourself most of the time, but our eyes are especially averse to bright [as in unnatural blinding white; natural light is quite alright] lighting conditions such as screenshots taken off a light-mode computing device, so we do appreciate the effort of everybeing that does do their due diligence in that regard.
we will probably just mute anyone who regularly posts media with no alternative descriptions at all
